Texas is an incredibly large and diverse state, with so much to see and do in and out of every city along the way. Riverview RV Campground in Waco is in the perfect location for you to get a little taste of everything this giant state has to offer. There are so many great things to experience with your family, and there’s definitely something for everyone. Here’s a list we’ve compiled of our favorite top 5 things to do the area, all just a convenient drive away from our beautiful campground.
We realize that not everyone loves baseball, however, a game at Ranger Stadium is always so much fun! You get to feel the energy of the crowd, and the players trying their best to win, and you get to be a part of the friendly rivalry between the home and opposing team. Not to mention the fact that there are several delicious restaurants and happy hours inside the stadium. Much like Ranger Stadium, Minute Maid Park in Houston has great restaurants and great happy hour deals, and you’re guaranteed to see an amazing game. The Astros are kicking butt in the American League this season, having fought their way to the top, so you know they’ll continue to fight to keep their rightfully earned spot at number one.
Austin is full of fun and crazy things to do, not to mention all the great places to eat. It’s kind of known for its variety of food and laid back atmosphere. Take a night out to see the South Congress Bridge Bats. They even give evening boat tours, which gives you a better opportunity to see the bats leave the bridge. It’s the coolest thing! If you’re in the mood for a good laugh and a great show, head on down to Esther’s Follies on 6th street. Of course, you have to see the state capital while you’re there!
Fort Worth Zoo
The Fort Worth Zoo has several informational and exciting exhibits, and also a ton of cute, furry little creatures that everyone will love seeing! Their newest exhibit, Safari Splash, is a HUGE HIT right now. Cool off from this crazy Texas heat in a fun little water play area, complete with a water dump tower. Safari Splash is only $5 with regular zoo admission. Everybody will love this fun attraction!
Dr. Pepper Museum
A unique local treasure that we all love and adore is the Dr. Pepper Museum. Learn about the history of one of America’s favorite sodas, all while being entertained and surrounded by Dr. Pepper memorabilia. They have several different fun events throughout the year that you won’t want to miss out on!
BSR Cable Park
Voted the number one cable park in the U.S., BSR Cable Park is a great (and safe) place to take your little daredevil! Don’t worry, there’s something for the more relaxed as well: the world’s longest lazy river! Who wouldn’t enjoy lounging around the Texas sun, but staying cool off in the slow moving water of the river? Also, check out the Royal Flush Super Slide! This might be the most fun thing you do on your trip!
